The slide show above shows different animals with different adaptations. The deer ,for example, has the color of the wood and debris around it helping it blend in. It also has sharp hooves helping it dig in the snow for grass and greenery to survive during the hard winters. Unlike deer, bears use a special adaptation to survive the winter. They hibernate. They need to eat a lot before they fall into a deep slumber. Because of the amount of food bears need, they have to eat berries, plants, and small insects along with meat to get enough food to survive the winter.
Animals use their special adaptions to survive. Without these adaptions these animals could not survive in the wild. Not only do animals have to adapt, plants do too! Plants have to adapt to a moist environment and grow as quickly as possible. Since there are a bunch of tall trees in the temperate forest, there is little light under the tree tops. When a tree falls, it is a race too see who can grow into that spot first.
